A Note from Team Sweet Marie… “Team Sweet Marie was started in honor and loving memory of a wonderfully dear friend, sister, daughter, wife and mother, Marie Kurpjuweit. She touched everyone who crossed her path and her smile was unforgettable! Since 2006 we have raised over $45,000 for Susan G. Komen For The Cure and walked hundreds of miles in the process! The fight is ongoing…we need to keep pushing for a cure to help the many women and men who have already been diagnosed and those who have yet to face this terrible disease. Sadly, the cure did not come soon enough for our beautiful Marie, but we know she’s an angel in heaven watching over us. Let’s make her and all that we have lost proud! Everyone deserves a lifetime…together we can make a difference!’
Girlfriends Giving Back is a group of small business owners that believe in giving back to the community by raising money and awareness through their companies. A portion of the proceeds of all boutique merchandise sales at the Backyard Fundraiser Boutique “Shop for the Cure!” will go to the Sweet Marie Team for the Breast Cancer 3-Day benefitting Susan G. Komen for the Cure and National Philanthropic Trust, funding important breast cancer research, education, screening, and treatment.
